The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) has more than 150,000 members worldwide.
The IET was formed in March 2006 by the Institution of Electrical Engineers (IEE) and the Institution of Incorporated Engineers (IIE).
We have active networks of members in 37 countries around the world.
There are twelve medals and presentations awarded each year. The most prestigious prize the IET can award is the Faraday Medal.
The IET produces Inspec, the leading English language bibliographic information service for scientific and technical literature.
The IET organises more than 120 conferences and events every year.
The IET publishes more than 100 new titles every year; a rich mix of books, journals and magazines with a back catalogue of more that 500 publications.
Flipside magazine, a teen SET publication, is the only magazine of its type available for teenagers.
The IET provides professional advice to Parliament, Government and other agencies and produces factfiles and briefings available to the public
The IEE Wiring Regulations are published by the IET.
The Faraday Lecture is the largest touring educational lecture in the UK, tours Asia every year, and is watched by more than one million students worldwide via satellite broadcast.
The IET is licensed to award the professional qualifications Engineering Technician (EngTech), Incorporated Engineer (IEng) and Chartered Engineer (CEng) by the Engineering Council UK.
More than £433,000 worth of scholarships are awarded to students each year.
The IET accredits more than 160 undergraduate courses in the UK.
The Institution of Engineering and Technology is registered as a Charity in England & Wales (no 211014) and Scotland (no SC038698).
